Riots over cartoons. Women sentenced to death by stoning. Leaders denying homosexuality exists in their country. These recent snapshots from the headlines are a reminder that contemporary Muslim affairs are rife with controversies.
Now the Spring 2010 Muslim Film Festival aims to go beyond sound-bites and stereotypes for an open conversation about controversial topics. Come see provocative short films and then join the post-screening discussion with academics, artists, and ordinary people struggling to define their lives in the face of injustice.
This festival of ideas is made possible by a generous grant from Mass Humanities.
